Privacy
OutdoorQ is designed to know as little about you as possible. Games run locally on your device, location is processed only during play, and nothing is stored permanently.

Who processes the data
The operator is OutdoorQ. If you have a privacy question or want to exercise your rights, reach us through the contact form (topic “Privacy”).
What we process
- Location (GPS) — during play, so we can tell the team has reached a spot. Coordinates stay on the device and within the active session; once the game is over we don't need them.
- Compass and motion sensors — for “direction” steps. Values are evaluated right on the device.
- Photos from game steps — saved only to your journal on this device (localStorage); they are never sent anywhere.
- Game progress and score — held locally so a game can be finished and revisited as a memory.
- Nickname — if you set one in your profile, it's stored only with you in the browser.
What we don't process
We have no accounts, we don't track you across sites, we don't sell data and we don't run advertising cookies. OutdoorQ keeps no profile of you.
Analytics
To improve the app we use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity (aggregate, anonymised reports). Measurement is on by default and you can turn it off in one click in the cookie settings.
Map data
We show maps via OpenFreeMap over © OpenStreetMap data. When tiles load, your IP address may reach the provider — that is technically necessary to display the map.
Your data, your device
Because most data lives only locally, you're fully in control: delete individual journal entries with the button on each card, or do a complete reset by clearing the site's data in your browser. That removes everything for good.
Your rights
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure and objection under the GDPR. Since your device holds the data, you can exercise most of it yourself right in the app. For anything else, reach us through the contact form. You can lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection.
Children
The game can be played with children, but children never move around the city on their own — OutdoorQ is an experience for a team with an adult along. We don't collect accounts or personal data from children.
Changes
If we revise this policy, we'll change the date at the top. We'll flag significant changes right in the app.
